Amy's Winning Bee Story

One morning  I woke up and thought, this morning it's bumble bee day at school. I have to catch a bumble bee for my homework. I had free time yesterday, I wish I had done it then. I would have felt much better today if I had.  I don't have any free time today.

I have a 7 story house and a 12 metre rope that can get me very far. It is great! I'll get a jar and a pair of scissors. I'll ask if I can go to the toilet, and instead I'll do my plan.  No even better a net.  None of those scissors and jars. Two less things than I would have had.  I forgot to tell you my name. It's ... Oh never mind.  I will just carry on with the story. There was a strange looking man staring at me.  I mean it, he wasn't blinking and he looked like a spirit.
"Ok" I sighed
"This is going to be scary and freaky both at the same time"
Oh.... Sorry I forgot they are both the same thing, and they both have the same meaning.  But I went halfway down the rope thinking it was just my brain and that was when it happened SWEEEEETTTYYY ARE YOU OUT OF THE TOILET?
This is going to be embarrassing  but...but...but well. "NO MUM I AM DOING A.....POOOOOOO"
I wish I didn't have to say that out loud. But I better get on with the story aye. The man that was standing in my garden was still creepily there.  "Ok" I said once again.
It's still my brain it's still my brain. I could not stop saying it. I got the full way down and the man jumped out in front of me. Aaaah I screamed.
You freaked me out. He was definitely blinking now he was also talking to me.
"Sorry" he said to me. He was laughing like mad. I am so sorry he was laughing but I did catch you a non flying bum. Oh sorry I forgot. Bum is short for bumble bee. I knew that I said sharply you were trying to be funny. "No. Yes. No. Yes"
SWEET HEART. Here you go. It's the non flying bum. "he he" Thanks
"YES MUM"
"I WILL COME AND GET YOU IF YOU DON'T COME DOWN SOON"
"NOOOOO" that is my worst nightmare mum coming in to the toilet when I am in it. I climb up the rope as fast as I can and I got there.  And I flushed the toilet for no reason as well.  Mum believed me.  When ingot to school, my friend jumped out of a playground.  Just like the old man in the garden I sighed.  “Hey are you playing a trick on me?”  “No of course not.”  “Hehe.” “Stop you are!”
I thought about it for the whole day.
Suddenly I saw a glimmer of my friends school bag and it was absolutely full as if there was maybe a costume possibly in it. I silently opened his bag and... He dressed up  as the old man at nine o'clock in the morning.
I knew  it!

Chiara's Winning Tall Story

The tallest story in the World

I was in Italy.  I always wanted to go to the tower of Pisa but my mum wouldn’t let me go.  All of my friends went and I was the only one that didn’t go.  I asked myself why my mum wouldn’t let me go, so I asked her – she answered me with a calm voice “because there is the devil and he could kill you”.  Then the following night I dreamed that all of my friends would tell me that I was scared.  Then I woke up!  It was just a dream.
So, the night after, I decided to go to the tower of Pisa.  I arrived at the tower of Pisa and it was windy and cloudy.  The first couple of owners knew I was scared but then I was calm.  It was freeky and scary.  I arrived at the top, it looked normal, but then the devil scared me.  He looked familiar. “Zio Andrea (Uncle Andrea).  What are you doing here as the devil?”  I said.  “Well” he said “that’s way my parents didn’t let me meet you?”  I had a lot of questions in my head.  My uncle responded “yes more or less”  “Mum told me that you would kill me” I said with interest.  “Oh, no that is for my work and I do not kill - that is my catch phrase” he told me with a laugh.
I asked my uncle if he could keep my secret that I had escaped from home and he said “yeah why not”.
Then I sour my mum in the city and she spotted me and I quickly hid behind my uncle.
But my mum continued walking and she ignored me.  I said to my uncle “thank you for hiding me” and he said “you’re welcome”.
I looked at my watch and it was time to go home so I said good bye to my uncle and I went home.  My mum never knew that I went to the tower of Pisa.  But I still kept in touch with my uncle!

Lennon's Story - Who is afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?

Who is afraid of the big bad wolf?

When I went in my classroom to get ready for school
Owen ran up to me and said
“the big bad wolf has eaten Aaron!”
“Thats crazy, the big bad wolf is a fairy tale” I said.
“NO!!! The big bad wolf is in the office”
Owen screamed.
“Fine I’ll look.”
I went in the office with Owen,
“No big bad wolf just Mr O’Neill” I whispered.
“Mr O’Neil is the big bad wolf” Owen screamed.

“Thats nonsense, Mr O’Neill is so not the big bad wolf.”
Just then Mr O’Neill came along and ripped his costume and he was actually the big bad wolf, he came along and ate Owen. I ran away!

I ran and hid in the toilet. The big bad wolf was looking for me. I hid in the toilet for hours and hours. Suddenly the bell went and everyone went home.

Then I heard a scream from outside, I peeked through the window I saw Mrs Anthony get eaten by the big bad wolf.

I saw the wolf - he looked a bit chubby. Then he went in the toilet. I was hiding really quietly. The big bad wolf went out of the toilet. I was waiting still hours and hours, It was midnight, I got out of the toilet I was walking quietly down the corridor . Then I peeked out the window, then I saw zombies and the big bad wolf.

In the wolf’s stomach I heard people saying “HELP!!! HELP!!!” I sprinted to the gate the zombies were chasing me. I saw a light - it hit the zombies, they ran away. The light came from the street lights.

I climbed over the gate, the big bad wolf was chasing me I ran down the street then I ran really fast then I tripped over on a rock. The big bad wolf ATE ME!!! I woke up in the wolf’s stomach.
Owen said next to me “told you Mr O’Neill is the big bad wolf.”

In the morning I saw a bird next to me. I had an idea, I got a feather and tickled the wolf he spat everyone out. The wolf was angry I ran away, then I thought to myself that I should stop running and fight back.

I got a water pistol from the ground and squirted the wolf The wolf screamed and tried to kill me, there was a knife behind me the wolf ran to me I stepped sideways and then I tripped over the wolf and then he fell on the knife,
“yay”I said.

Later I told everyone to never go to school at midnight because of the zombies. Everyone celebrated
and had big bad wolf stew, I laughed at the dead wolf,

Then I said “that is what you get for eating me”

Greetings Parents, children and friends,

Wow term 3 is here at last :)  I hope you all had a wonderful break and the weather was fantastic!!

We especially welcome Chirara to our class all the way from Italy - we hope you have a long and happy association with St Marys - we are a awesome school!

Thank you to all the parents who came to parent interview last term - it was valuable  for Mrs Wilson and myself to share with you what your children are doing at school.

Now that Mr O'Neill and I have worked out the password to the blog I will endeavor to get the stories that have won up on it as well as photos taken throughout the last few terms.

This term we are studying and celebrating our own culture - as individual families and as a class and school.  I look forward to learning about where all my children are from - we have children in Room 3 from Philippines, East Timor, Italy, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Chile, India, New Zealand European, New Zealand Maori and Hungry - what a lot to learn.

Another big focus this term is learning and retaining our Multiplication tables - it is an essential skill for the children to learn and it certainly helps with all areas of Maths!

The children should also be reading - this is without the tv or computer on as this can prove to be a distraction.  Children of this age should be reading for at least 20 minutes every night.  More information will follow during the term about ideas to get your child to read :)

Keep checking back to see how much I have managed to upload.

Week 2 Winner - Valentine

When is the Bumble Bee going to rest?

Camp was the same as usual except the part of how I found a bumble bee.
I called him Mr Fuzzy.  His black and yellow coat shimmered in the sunlight.  His delicate antlers twitched while his wings shimmered amongst the leaves.
It was only 2 more days until I was going home.  2 more days until I could let Mr Fuzzy sleep next to me on my pillow.  I couldn’t wait to show Mr Fuzzy his own bed.
“Night campers” Miss Melody called.
I put Mr Fuzzy in his tissue box.
As I snuggled up in my sleeping bag, I couldn’t stop twitching.  The word bed ran through my head.  I was eager to show my pet bumble bee his new bed.  Even though I was going to have to hide Mr Fuzzy from my parents.
I tried one more time again trying to go to sleep.  When I opened my eyes again, the bright sunlight shone through my tent.   I could hear the glorious music of the birds singing.
Our first subject for the day was finding the honey brown bear that Miss Melody hid.  Of course Nikki found it.
Mr Fuzzy laid comfortably on my shoulder.  Tomorrow would be the day I went home!  We were on our way back to the camping ground.  I bent down to pick up another flower.   It was a royal blue violet.
I then put Mr Fuzzy in the box and the heap of colourful flowers, when we reached the tents.  Before I went to bed I thought of all the fun me and Mr Fuzzy would have.  Then I closed my eyes and went to bed.
I work up disturbed by a loud beeping noise. DAD! I grabbed my bag and gently hid Mr Fuzzy behind my back.  I had forgotten to close Mr Fuzzy's box.
As I got in the car I hadn’t noticed Mr Fuzzy climbing up my shirt.

“BEE!  Get it out!  Get it out!”  He screamed.  It was like the alarm had gone off.  I really knew not to argue with dad.  He was the king of punishment.  But I didn’t want to hurt his feelings.
I took a deep breath in and opened the door.  He was really gone.  It was the end of me and Mr Fuzzy.
Mr Fuzzy never got to sleep at my house for eternity after all.

Week 1 Winner - Kiana

How are you arriving at school tomorrow?

Hmmmm How am I arriving at school tomorrow?  As I got up, got dressed, ate my breakfast and started thinking how can i arrive at school tomorrow?  I said to myself.  It can be something random like on a limo but its a waste, maybe if I ride on a limo it might get a flat wheels maybe some other choices....... Hmmmm how about a private jet but maybe its a bit dangerous - it might crash ....... Oh how about a boat,  I like boats cause they are so peaceful but it might sink like the Titanic.  Well I want to live!  Maybe another good idea ......Oh how about sky diving.  I think that's a good idea but I might get a serious injury.
What am I thinking!  All these negatives are giving me a headache.

"Mum!  I feel sick!"

So I guess I won't be arriving at school tomorrow.
