Dear Parents,
Welcome to the middle of term 3!
It has been a busy start to the
term. We loved having the ERO team in
our classroom – they saw all the wonderful things we were learning and left our
room with a very positive outlook on what we do in Room 3. It is always a stressful time, however it is
great for the children to explain to someone else what we are learning and why
we are doing it. Please remember to ask
you children what they are learning in class – a lot of them will just say
“play and ate my lunch”. Consider asking
them more direct questions for example what did you do in maths today? What are you learning about in R.E.?
Topics for Term 3
RE – Communion of Saints (Choices)
and Church (Called to Service)
English – Report Writing
Maths – Algebra (Patterns) and
Number (Multiplication and Division)
Art – Sewing
Topic – Windmills and Water Wheels
PE – Kiwi sport
Please look at our blog – I have
been posting some fantastic photos of the children learning different
things. It is evidence of their
learning. I aim to post at least one
thing on a week (if not moreJ).

Thank you to those parents who hear
their child read each night. It helps
the child consolidate what they have been learning in class and gives them
confidence with reading aloud. The children
also have spelling words to learn. These
are given out on a Monday and tested on the following Monday. It is great to see some people make huge
progress with their spelling – KEEP IT UP!
As it is going to be a wet week,
please make sure your child brings their polar fleece to school and a
jacket. The weather can change so
quickly and many children are feeling cold in the afternoon because they
haven’t anything to put on.
Here is a photo of the musical
instruments the class made with Miss Madden last term. This term they are sewing – we wait for the
creations later in the term:)
If you have any questions, please
come in and see me before or after school.
I am here at school Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday during term 1, 2, 3
and back full time during term 4. I am
more than happy to see you.
Kind Regards
Nicola Anthony
