Merry Christmas
Thank you to all those parents and caregivers who have been loving and supportive of all the children in Room 3 this year. Without your support, I'm not sure we would have smiled as much as we did this year. To those who are moving on to other rooms and other parts of NZ and the world - Good Luck and work hard - be the best you can be!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I look forward to seeing you in 2012.
xx Mrs Anthony

Prayer Time
We have been very fortunate to have Cushla from Catholic Education Office in our classroom today teaching us about how to pray. We had our eyes closed, focused on our breathing and listening to a song Be Still and Know God is here. We felt really wonderful, calm, peaceful, relaxed, joyful, gentle, kind, loving, caring and faithful while listening to it. Cushla also gave us 2 sets of Rosary beads from a very poor village in Mexico who wanted to help after the earthquakes. The Rosary beads are hand made with cottons. They wrote us a message and as it is in Spanish, Isidora is taking the message home to get her mum and dad to translate the Spanish for us.
Thank you Cushla!!!

Having fun with Plays
We are focusing on co-operation when working in a group. It is nice to say words for our friends when they are reading however, we need to allow others time to think. In these photos, we are working in mixed groups and will present our plays informally to the rest of the class.

Some Aliens are coming ...........
Here are some of the Year 4 Alien verses ...... Mrs Anthony read us half of Here Come the Aliens! written by Colin McNaughton. We then had to follow the pattern of the verses and add our own ........
One is here
One is there
Some are dead
Some are standing on their head
Some are friendly
Some are deadly
THE ALIENS ARE COMING!
By Lennon
Some are fat
Some are flat
THE ALIENS ARE COMING!
By Kiana
They go into the mall
Where they look cute and cool
They go into a shop
and buy a chop.
THE ALIENS ARE COMING!
By Lexi
The aliens have landed in the sea
Their ship sinks
And the aliens say WEEEE
THE ALIENS ARE SWIMMING!
By David

More Year 3 Poems
More wonderful poems from Year 3's ........
One sunny Sunday I saw a snail;
One mad Monday I met a monster;
One terrible Tuesday I tickled a tiger;
One wacky Wednesday I watched a whale;
One thick Thursday I threw a thief;
One flying Friday I found a fly;
One sunny Saturday I saw a sun on the road.

One sunny Sunday I saw a snail;
One mad Monday I met a mummy;
One teeming Tuesday I teamed a trout;
One wacky Wednesday I woke a wasp;
One thoughtful Thursday I thanked a turtle;
One fun Friday I was funny;
One sunny Saturday I went to Spain with a sailing spider.

Introducing Me!
As part of sexuality lessons Room 3 had to tell about ourselves. We found this hard - it is hard for some of us to say what we are good at. We were given time to write down all the things we are good at, our interests, what we like to eat, our family and what we enjoy to do. Some of us felt really scared but because we are a great supportive class we all managed to get up there and tell the class about us.
